Monitoring

To effectively monitor the billing platform, we recommend implementing monitoring software such as Zabbix or Nagios. However, it's crucial to note that the specifics of monitoring the network environment can vary based on the policies and tools established within your company. As such, the following are general guidelines rather than prescriptive, exact solutions. Ensure that the following factors are under surveillance:

  • Current load on all nodes – considered critical when the load average exceeds 75% of CPU cores;
  • Free disk space – deemed critical when below 30% of the total capacity;
  • Swap usage – considered critical when exceeding 10%, since most processes should completely fit into RAM;
  • RAID array state – ensuring consistency for your adapter's array;
  • HTTPs – accessibility on the master node;
  • Running processes for RADIUS – process named vcs-bbradiusd should be running;
  • Running processes for SIP Redirect – process named vcs-bbsipd should be running.

In addition to the above, it's essential to monitor the proper operability of all related equipment, including switches, SBCs, and gateways. This holistic approach ensures the comprehensive health and performance of your network environment. Following these initial configuration steps, proceed to the integration stage with your switches and/or gateways. For detailed guidance on this procedure, refer to the Integration Manual.
